Huub at Yellowpoint Lodge

Here's Huub in front of a crackling fire at Yellowpoint Lodge. He's a happy camper, aftter a couple of days of great food, good company and stormy weather on Vancouver Island.

Huub at Little Nest

Here's Huub at our favourite place, Little Nest, off of Commercial Drive, in Vancouver's original "Little Italy". The Drive was originally a skid road for dragging logs to the harbour, now has a hip, indie vibe.

Huub in the Olympic Village

Here's Huub relaxing in the sunshine at Tap and Barrel sampling a few craft beer at a new waterfront patio in the Olympic Village on False Creek. We had a nice visit with Stuart who was visiting from Ottawa. Southeast False Creek, once an industrial heartland of Vancouver though to the 1950s, home to many sawmills and small port operations, has now been transformed into a leading model of sustainable development and designed as a mixed-use community with a population of 10,000+.

Huub at Vancouver Aquarium

Here's Huub in his element. We saw the new African penguins at the Vancouver Aquarium today at Penguin Point inspired by Boulders Beach in Cape Town, South Africa, their natural environment.

A fun visit with Jodie, Craig, Owen and Griffin. Next time Huub gets in the water with them!

Huub on Dent Island

Located in the Discovery Islands north of Desolation Sound, here's Huub on Panacea over the BC long weekend. What an amazing place! Big thumbs down to Atlantic salmon farm fishing in BC waters.

Huub on Main Street

Here's Huub at Livable Laneways event on Main Street in Vancouver after an amazing vegetarian meal at Acorn Restaurant with Prem and Joanna. Livable Laneways Night Markets is a VIVA Vancouver initiative supported by the City of Vancouver. Coordinated by Livable Laneways, a non-profit organization, Paths to Plazas is an example of how they are dedicated to transforming the overlooked laneways and alleys of Vancouver into pedestrian friendly zones.

Huub at Kits pool

You know it's summer when... finally! Kits pool is Canada’s longest pool—almost three times longer than an Olympic pool—and Vancouver’s only heated salt water pool.

Huub at Whistler

For his birthday this year, Huub celebrated up at Whistler with his brother, Kees who share the same birthday. We hiked, went to a yoga class, lounged by the pool and had an amazing meal at the Rimrock.

Brentwood Bay

Here's Huub at the Tsawassen Ferry terminal as we make our way through the Saanich Peninsula along the Lockside trail to the fabulous Brentwood Bay Lodge and Spa to meet Barbara and Bram for Easter.
